During the early days of The Print Bug, Jade's main inspiration for her pattern designs came when she bought her first car. Betsy, a pink 1973 VW Beetle and began to attend classic car shows and became familiar with the 'VW Scene'.
She noticed that many fabrics sold at VW shows have very similar patterns, and knowing how much VW enthusiasts like to customise their cars or vans, Jade decided it was time that the customer had a choice when it came to the interiors and accessories She started by drawing Beetle and Campervan templates (for the different generations of vehicles), which could be customised to look like the customer’s own car. It was then decided that there would be a variety of different colours each design could be produced in, to match their car Many fabrics sold at VW shows have very similar patterns, and knowing how much VW enthusiasts like to customise their cars or vans, Jade decided it was time that the customer had a choice when it came to the interiors and acessories.
