Did you know you CAN wallpaper in a bathroom?
Providing you have adequate ventilation such as a decent extractor.
You can wallpaper in areas that are not going to get wet.
When our bathroom was wallpapered I used a dead matt varnish from @polyvine_uk.
I applied two coats to seal the wallpaper for extra protection.
It’s also perfect for protection against scuffs in ‘high traffic’ areas too!

✨Welcome to Jungle Dreams✨
I am so excited to show you our new family bathroom featuring a new pattern from @the.print.bug.

From art deco style wallpaper to warm wood panelling, matte gunmetal brassware, layers of texture, pattern, a combination of rich earthy tones and vibrant colour come together. I would describe this room as vintage soul meets modern calm.

After spending just over 10 years working in the bathroom industry, I have finally been able to put a design together that challenges the ‘norm’ of bathroom design by going ultra bold and colourful.
This bathroom design came to life with the help of our fab installer, L D Ward Property Renovations.

My partner and I decided to have our bathroom and ensuite knocked through and make it one big family bathroom. It may sound mad getting rid of our ensuite, but both rooms just did not work. They were small and poorly designed! I’ll explain more over the next few days as I share details about our new bathroom.

My new design featured on the walls, ‘Jungle Dreams’ is now available as wallpaper on the website. Link in my bio.
Fabric and other products will be available shortly.

This fabric is AMAZING…it’s a sustainable alternative to animal leather.
Pinatex is a non-woven textile which is coated on the front, leaving the natural fibres visible on the back.

Pinatex is made from the leaves of the pineapple plant. The pineapple leaf fibres used to create this fabric, are a waste product. No extra land, water or pesticides are used to create the raw material.

Fabric composition:
46% PALF (Pineapple Leaf Fibre)

42% PU - The PU used in the coating is REACH compliant which means it has no detectable volatile compounds. Pinatex has optimised the maximum amount of bio-based PU they can use while still ensuring longevity to the material.

12% PLA - Polylactic Acid - vegetable based plastic material made from cornstarch using renewable sources.

Print area : 145cm width x 1m lengths

Pinatex is sourced and manufactured in the Philippines and is finished in Spain.
Print designs are printed onto Pinatex in London.

Today I was welcomed aboard May, a beautiful Thames Sailing Barge, built in 1891.
I met a lovely lady called Jane, who is part of a group that formed @thebreadandrosesbarge.
Bread and Roses is a female lead project aspiring to create a floating bakery to support women from all walks of life, who have been through trauma in their lives.
I came across a post on instagram from Bread and Roses that were asking for cushion donations. Knowing I had some sample cushions I decided to donate these to this beautiful barge.
After meeting Jane and beautiful May, I am going to create a new print for this wonderful project!

🌟A Rebel With Hope and Never Giving Up🌟
These last few months I have been on a journey of reflection while navigating my first wonderful experience of motherhood. I thought I would dedicate my first post of 2024 to International Womens Day.

You see, when I was 10 years old, I was awarded a trophy in primary school for ‘NEVER GIVING UP’. I don’t think I understood at the time, the meaning behind that award. But as I have grown older I started to understand it.

Here I am now, a REBEL, a woman, a mum, running a creative business and forging her own path.
I feel proud that I am 1 out of 880,000 female led businesses in the UK.

I believe there is strength in numbers and those who lead the way for us. A leader’s strength is inspiring greatness in others. Such as @hollytucker advocating for us women in business and @rachaeltaylor_ , co founder of the amazing online school @makeitindesign . Without their inspiration, I would not be here writing this as a creative business owner. I was staggered to learn that 8 out of 10 young people cannot name a female entrepreneur.

Yet, women are making progress. The hurdles seem never ending, but look how far we have come. We need to keep the pressure on those in power to invest in and support women and not just in terms of business. We have a long way to go.

It’s easy to get lost with all that’s happened. Still, we have a duty don’t we? An obligation to uphold, when we’re able.
There is still HOPE for us yet.

You see, when I was 10 years old, I was awarded a trophy in primary school for ‘NEVER GIVING UP’. I don’t think I understood at the time, the meaning behind that award. But as I have grown older I started to understand it.

Here I am now, a REBEL, a woman, a mum, running a creative business and forging her own path.
I feel proud that I am 1 out of 880,000 female led businesses in the UK.

I believe there is strength in numbers and those who lead the way for us. A leader’s strength is inspiring greatness in others. Such as @hollytucker advocating for us women in business and @rachaeltaylor_ , co founder of the amazing online school @makeitindesign . Without their inspiration, I would not be here writing this as a creative business owner. I was staggered to learn that 8 out of 10 young people cannot name a female entrepreneur.

Yet, women are making progress. The hurdles seem never ending, but look how far we have come. We need to keep the pressure on those in power to invest in and support women and not just in terms of business. We have a long way to go.

It’s easy to get lost with all that’s happened. Still, we have a duty don’t we? An obligation to uphold, when we’re able.
There is still HOPE for us yet.

I just wanted to pop my face on here and introduce myself to my new followers here @the.print.bug.
⭐️ I am a print designer and design my own collections on fabrics, wallpapers and accessories.
⭐️I officially launched my business during the 1st Lockdown in 2020 and converted my spare bedroom into my mini studio.
⭐️ I offer a custom service where I work with customers to change colours on my designs if they have a particular scheme for their project.
⭐️ My current collections range from the Tropics to Art Deco. On the 1st of July I am releasing a new collection called ‘Camper&Bug’ which explores the much loved Classic VW scene.
⭐️I aim to build a library of colourful design collections over my lifetime that will explore various themes, which will always be available to YOU.
⭐️I use mixed media when designing, meaning I often start off with sketching pencils, marker pens, paints, coloured pencils and then onto the computer to adapt my designs even further.
⭐️ I print to order - printing and manufacturing times are becoming quicker, currently with lead times of up to 3 weeks from printing to your door. I feel by working this way reduces mass production, is considerably more sustainable, reduces stock floating and allows me to alter products as and when it is necessary for my business.
⭐️ Everything I offer is printed here in the UK.
