Our Green Promise

Heading 1

The Print Bug has set out its own guidelines when it comes to designing and the suppliers it uses to produce the products; from how we recycle, to the energy that is used and how these products are manufactured.

Packaging:

When it comes to packaging, we make sure that any non-recyclables and recyclables are separated and are recycled according to our local government guidelines. Where we post items to customers, any packaging used is carefully considered and kept to a minimum where necessary. We strongly encourage our customers to either re-use our packaging or recycle it.

Production:

With our products being 'made to order' this creates minimal wastage and uses less energy than it would if we were to hold a mass of stock of each product.

All inks used in the manufacture process of our products are eco-friendly, water based and contain no toxic chemicals.

Our wallpapers are FSC certified and the most sustainable inks used, these are also green guard certified, meaning no strong chemicals are used in these inks and are odourless.

Fabrics from our suppliers have been ethically sourced from mills that maintain high standards, from labour to ecological responsibility.

Our suppliers have zero waste policies for any excess fabric, which is given away for free to crafters or donated to local schools and charities. Paper and ink waste is recycled by professional waste management companies to avoid being sent to landfill.

At The Print Bug, if we find any fabric / wallpaper  remnants or samples that are no longer of use these are donated to local schools or charities.

Energy Usage:

Keeping costs and energy consumption lower, The Print Bug is based at Jade's home address in Essex.

All our products are produced here in the UK meaning that our Carbon Footprint is kept even lower than it would be if we had foreign manufacturing partners.

Electricity is the highest use of energy when it comes to the running of The Print Bug and the manufacturing processes for our products. However, the machines that produce our products are run on energy cut off switches meaning that power is kept to a minimum when idle.
